Day 2

Your coach will depart for Durbin, WV and the Durbin Rocket train. The Durbin Rocket is powered by Old #3 which is only one of three operating Climax geared logging locomotives on earth. The riverside ride skirts along the Greenbrier River and through the Monongahela National Forest. This afternoon another historic rail adventure awaits you as you depart the Cass Whitaker Station aboard the Cass Railroad. Cass has the largest fleet of Shay locomotives in the world. These legendary locomotives were used to haul lumber to the mill in Cass and have operated on this rail line for over 100 years. Return to Elkins for a dancing good time at the Gandy Dancer Dinner Theater.
