Day 1

Board your motorcoach for Chicago, IL for your departure on the California Zephyr. You will overnight this day in Chicago.

Day 2

All aboard for adventure! Meet the tour director and settle into your train accommodations for an afternoon departure. Tonight, your dreams will be filled with your journey to come. Overnight on the train.

Day 3

Your day begins like none other as sweeping vistas of the glorious Colorado Rockies come into view. Keep your camera handy as the Zephyr climbs the front range of the Rockies. Visit the Lounge Car for a Trails and Tails presentation. Arrive in Salt Lake City for your two night hotel stay.

Day 4

Your morning begins with a guided tour of beautiful Salt Lake City, Utah's capitol, founded by Mormon pioneers and considered the "crossroads of the West." See Temple Square, the Salt Lake Temple, Utah's State Capitol, the Great Salt Lake, and sites from the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.

Day 5

Your motorcoach heads to Montpelier, Idaho for a visit to the National Oregon/California Trail Center where you will learn firsthand about this historic pioneer route and experience a simulated wagon train ride. Overnight in Jackson, WY hotel.

Day 6

As you make your way to Yellowstone, your excursion will take you through the Grand Teton National Park, featuring blue mountain lakes and a diverse array of wildlife. Highlights will be the Chapel of Transfiguration, a rustic log church, breathtaking views, lunch at the Jackson Lake Lodge, and a visit to the Colter Bay Visitor Center. Your accommodations for the next three nights will be in Yellowstone Park. Relax in this wonderful setting.

Day 7

Today's guided adventure takes you to Madison Junction and all the way to Norris Geyser Basin. Stand in awe of Mammoth Hot Springs, Tower Junction and Tower Falls. Continuing on this afternoon, you will discover Artist Point, Inspiration Point, and the Upper and Lower Falls of the Yellowstone River. Keep your camera handy for wildlife.

Day 8

: Today's excursion takes you on a spectacular drive through Hayden Valley but the highlight of your day will be experiencing Old Faithful Geyser. You will also view the fascinating paint-pots and bubbling hot springs mixed with clay.

Day 9

Board your motorcoach as your journey continues to East Glacier Park, MT. Stops along the way will give you the opportunity to catch some of the beauty of Montana's Big Sky Country. The Glacier Park Lodge, MT will be your accommodations for the next two nights.

Day 10

Experience Glacier National Park's pristine forests, alpine meadows, rugged mountains, and spectacular lakes. Travel over the famous Going-to-the-Sun-Road, one of the most beautiful scenic roadways in the world, aboard a historic Jammer Red Bus, with a stop at Lake McDonald Lodge.

Day 11

Your train departs this morning from the East Glacier Park Amtrak Station aboard the iconic Empire Builder bound for Chicago. Settle in and reflect on all the wonderful experiences you have had in the West as you cross through the badlands of eastern Montana and North Dakota.

Day 12

Your train this morning will head toward the mighty Mississippi River. As the Empire Builder takes you across the plains and winds between the river bank and high bluffs, drink in the amazing scenery one last time. Arrive this evening in Chicago for an overnight stay.

Depart Chicago this morning and enjoy a leisure trip toward home as you think of all the wonders of the West.
