Our touring continues today with an amazing visit to Louisville, Kentucky's "Mega Caverns" for a riding tram tour - this is one of only a couple places in all the USA where you can tour a cavern on a tram - no walking! A mega Cavern expert will guide us on an underground adventure located beneath the city of Louisville. Rich in history, geology, mining, recycling, green building technology and just simply huge in scale, this will be a fascinating experience you'll remember forever! There will be time for lunch on your own in Bardstown whcih is the second oldest town in Kentucky and strong in spirit...a Southern spirit that welcomes you to one of the "Best Small Towns in America"...a religious spirit that's appropriate for the home of the first diocese of the West. (Here, you wiill also find a little fun spirit prominent in this area called "bourbon" with an eclectic array of culture and historical heritage blending beautifully). The ballad "My Old Kentucky Home" was written by popular 19th century composer, Stephen Foster, and has become one fo the most influential songs in American culture...and this afternoon we will visit this famous farm and homestead at My Old Kentucy Home with many rich layers of history. Embrace this unique visit as you will see this 19th century mansion's exquisite rooms which are filled with priceless 200 year old original artifacts and is truly an incomparable national treasure. Then, it's "All Aboard" on My Old Kentucky Dinner Train as we ride the rails and truly relive the elegance of railcar dining while traveling through beautiful Bourbon Country. On this lovely rail excursion, you will experience a gourmet meal, impeccable service and true Southern hospitality throughout. We then take our seats "under the stars" for Kentucky's longest running outdoor drama and official outdoor musical celebrating the life of renowned American composer, Stephen Foster. At the "Stephen Foster Musical" show you will enjoy an energetic production with colorful period costumes, amazing choreography and dozens of Foster's most beloved and timeless classics with Kentucky's official state song, "My Old Kentucky Home". Set amidst a massive amphitheater, this will be a beautiful evening for all.
